Jaco
Playa Jacó is the closest thing in Costa Rica to Daytona Beach during spring break. The number-one attraction is the surf, and this is definitely a surfer-dominated beach town. Surfers love the consistent beach break here (and at neighboring Playa Hermosa).
Playa de Jacó is the central Pacific's party town. There are tons of bars and several discos. The Disco La Central is packed every night of the high season and every weekend during the off season. For a more casual atmosphere, head to either the Beatle Bar or Onyx Bar. Both are located right on the main drag in town.
Pacific Bistro is a great option. Chef Kent Green changes the menu almost nightly, but fresh seafood and top-quality cuts of meat are always the building blocks for his creative Asian-influenced creations. You'll usually find some fresh tuna, mahimahi, and jumbo shrimp on the menu, but on any given night the sauces will range from a homemade teriyaki to a spicy Thai sauce to coconut curry.
