Seaside Cabanas is a newly reconstructed hotel situated right on the beach on the beautiful Island of Caye Caulker, just 22 miles from Belize city. The hotel architecture blends Belizean and Mexican styles with the use of thatch, local woods and bright colours. The interiors are cool and modern with artwork from Belize and other parts of the Caribbean. Overall the atmosphere is fun, tropical and uniquely Caye Caulker. They are proud to offer the islands first and only freshwater swimming pool as well as 16 air-conditioned rooms, a two-story bar with beautiful thatched palapa roof, a tour and travel service and a gift shop.
If you like diving, Caye Caulker is home to some of Belize finest dive spots. If laying on the white sand beaches and sipping your beverage of choice is more your style, we don't think you'll get tired of it, and we're a little jealous.
Caye Caulker
Caye Caulker is the place to be laid back. Most eloquent of the caye's spirit is the sign on the main road exhorting "Go Slow". Hammocks, sandy streets, and cool Caribbean breezes greet arrivals. If you catch a taxi, a golf cart is what you'll get. From the asphalt landing strip lead just a handful of streets through the small village of seaside restaurants, lodges, pubs, shops and clapboard houses in bright colors. The barrier reef can be seen from the main road.
Herbal Tribe is a great spot for some grub. A mellow, outdoor Rastafarian delight. There are a variety of wooden seating choices under the lantern-lit, small palapa; painted picnic tables; slabs; or carved chairs. The menu is chalk full of delicious dishes, and you should be in and out for less than $20.
